Future is bright once again!
When we initially reached out to Carrie, my husband and I were in a desperate place. Due to our daughter's unique, strong-willed personality, our home had started to feel like a toxic environment. We felt like we were constantly yelling at her and we felt like horrible parents...we were miserable and she was miserable. With Carrie's multi-faceted and patient guidance, our relationship with our daughter has done a complete turn-around. I now receive unsolicited "I love you"s and hugs that had disappeared, and I have a closeness with my daughter that I had been missing. Carrie gave us the tools we needed to be the best parents for our daughter, teaching us different approaches to various situations, helping us see our individual strengths and weaknesses, and doing it all with a non-judgmental attitude. Carrie ended up feeling more like a trusted friend. She also gave us ideas to help improve our home environment as well as our marriage, knowing all these areas work together to create a happy family. We cannot possibly fully express our gratitude to Carrie for the changes that have come about through her help. Our future is bright once again!
Blessing during the pandemic
Working with Carrie was a blessing during a pandemic. Carrie helped me see the strength in my parenting style. She also offered me ideas and suggestions to deal with tantrum, whining and everything else that comes with two toddlers at home. I am very hard on myself, and I always strive to achieve perfection. Carrie reminded me that not everything is going to be perfect in parenting and her caring words ensured me that I am a great mother. Carrie skills as a parent coach, her own experience as a parent and her love for what she does were a gift to my family.
Parenting challenges are manageable now
When we started working together, I was impatient and lost as a parent. I had been trying so hard to find my voice as a mommy. Since working with Carrie, I've become so connected to my parenting and what I want for my family. Within the first few weeks, I sensed a shift in my household, and I've become so present and empowered. With Carrie's guidance and knowledge, I'm already a calmer and more confident mommy. Carrie has taken the time to get to know me and my family and has given me tools to align my parenting with my values. Through our work, I am so intentional and deliberate in my everyday parenting, and it has strengthened my relationship with my girls. I am so hopeful for where I can lead my family. Carrie has made so many parenting challenges manageable, and we've already been able to celebrate successes! She is realistic, empowering and non-judgmental. I have been so inspired by our work together. She is such a great cheerleader and supporter and I am so thankful that my journey has led me to her! Carrie helped me change the narrative when I refused to conform to parenting that didn’t feel authentic to me. She has helped me infuse elements into my daily life that had been missing. She is able to recognize the end result and lay out the steps, which took work and effort, but never felt overwhelming. It has been a truly personalized experience, which has made a huge impact.
Insightful and empathetic
Working with Carrie has equipped me with invaluable tools and tactics to tackle the world’s most important job: being a parent. Seeking ways to be the best parent I can be, she served as a keen, prepared, insightful and empathetic coach. Each week I looked forward to learning from her well of resources. It was made so easy to absorb via her caring and professional approach. I feel I’ve been bestowed a precious and powerful gift not only for my family but for myself that has enriched and enlivened our days. The perspective I’ve gained and the skills I’ve learned have lead to a pivot in my life for which I’m eternally grateful, thanks Carrie for all you’ve done!
Eye-opening and Humbling
When I started working with Carrie Ross-Gingerich I was a frustrated parent, not aligned with my husband/co-parent, and regularly described my oldest child as difficult. After 10 weeks of parent coaching I would now say that I am growing daily in my parenting journey, that I have found ways to communicate and align messaging with my husband, and that my oldest child has many needs that I am working on better understanding and addressing. I would describe my sessions with Carrie as often eye-opening and humbling. I learned to speak 'toddler'. Most important, Carrie creates a safe space that is inviting and open. I felt I could really be myself, be honest about what wasn't working and allow myself to identify what was causing the blockages. Working with Carrie was almost like working with a meditation/yoga instructor but instead of improving your downward dog, she facilitates you diving into yourself as an individual and a parent. It was having that nurturing space that allowed me to identify how to grow as a parent and in turn get more productive interactions with my toddler. My toddler still throws tantrums and tests the boundaries, but I have a new set of tools that I can access to turn a frustrating situation into a bonding experience.
Grateful for her support
Working with Carrie on parent coaching was a very special experience for me. Most of our sessions took place during the COVID-19 quarantine when I suddenly became a stay at home working mom. Carrie’s calm and non-judgmental approach gave me something to look forward to each week. It gave me a chance to debrief about what was going on in my home and the world. I was able to learn that some of my choices as a parent were closely tied to struggles from my childhood that I needed to resolve. Together we determined my parenting style (as well as my husbands) and discussed the strengths and weaknesses of our particular styles. Carrie focuses on her clients abilities and things they are doing well to guide them towards strategies that will work for their specific family unit. Carrie asks the hard questions in the most delicate way so you can become the best version of yourself for your little ones. Her resources outside of our sessions were not only helpful for me but a great way to get my husband involved in the process. Do yourself a favor and allow Carrie to join you on your parenting journey. I am extremely grateful for all her support and my sons are enjoying a more positive and calmer mommy.
